The deadline is tomorrow to share your thoughts about net neutrality with the FCC.
If the FCC doesn’t classify broadband as a component of the nation’s communication infrastructure, control will be put into the hands of giant corporations such as AT&T and Comcast.
“The agency is deciding whether to reassert its authority to protect broadband access from phone and cable companies,” blogger Megan Tady said, “which want to be able to block access to online information and prioritize their own content and services over their competitors’.”
According to Tady, AT&T, Comcast and Verizon have spent more than $50 million in 2010 to stop FCC from protecting the public’s use of the Internet to communicate.
