Xamarin just made it easier for Windows developers to port their applications to Apple’s Mac platform. The company has launched Xamarin.Mac, which allows developers to create OS X apps using C# and .NET. The tool is based on the MonoDevelop IDE, an open source project that Xamarin owns.

According to Xamarin, “Under the hood, you can choose the combination of .NET library functionality and native Mac OS X APIs (application programming interfaces) that works best for your application.”

Xamarin.Mac retails for $399 for a personal license or $999 for an enterprise license.
