A research firm called IoT Analytics has released a list of the companies making the biggest investments in the Internet of Things (IoT). With its recently announced $3 billion investment in IoT, IBM led the way. The remaining top twenty included Google, Intel, Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Apple, SAP, Oracle, Samsung, HP, Ericsson, Amazon, GE, Qualcomm, AT&T, Orange, BlackBerry, Facebook, Dell and Verizon, in that order.
IBM also employs the most IoT staff by a wide margin: it has 1,400 IoT employees, which is 50 percent more than Cisco, the second largest IoT employer.
