Apple has made a change to its App Store that could impact mobile development firms with freemium apps. The button for downloading free apps used to say “Free,” but today Apple changed the button so that it says “Get.”
According to Wired, Apple updated the wording “to avoid confusion, and potential litigation, around apps that actually include in-app purchases.” Earlier this year, European Commission (EC) issued guidelines which said that mobile development firms shouldn’t mislead users by labeling apps as free when they actually have in-app purchases.
