The Veterans Affairs is looking at open source model and private/public partnerships to build a modern and open source medical records information technology system.

“This is a really big deal, novel in government,” Craigslist founder Craig Newark said, “which might also improve the health record systems we all use. This could become the basis of a jointly developed health records platform.”
