Verizon Unveils ThingSpace IoT Platform

On Wednesday, Verizon launched ThingSpace, a new Internet of Things (IoT) platform that includes application development, testing and device management capabilities. According to the company, IoT developers often have to cobble together hardware and software from a variety of different vendors in order to get their IoT projects up and running. “It’s no wonder that so many people with great ideas for IoT don’t make it through the barriers and gates to get in it,” said Mike Lanman, Verizon’s senior vice president of enterprise and IoT products. ThingSpace is designed to eliminate those hurdles.

The company said the platform is already being used by a few companies, including a family-owned Northern California winery called Hahn Family Wines.
