Three Teams Win Watson Mobile Developer Challenge

IBM has selected three winners from among the 400 entries it received for its Watson Mobile Developer Challenge. The winning mobile development firms were GenieMD, Majestyk Apps and Red Ant. All three will receive help from IBM for bringing their proposed products to market.

GenieMD’s proposed app provides a holistic view of a person’s health care records and makes it easy to share those records. Majestyk Apps wants to create F.A.N.G. (Friendly Anthropomorphic Networked Genome), which despite its name is actually a cuddly stuffed toy that can interact with children. And Red Ant wants to use Watson technology to “improve all areas of retail.”

Watson is IBM’s cognitive computing platform which gained notoriety by winning the television game show Jeopardy. The contest challenged developers to utilize Watson’s capabilities to build a mobile app that makes the world a better place.
