The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) has published a list of the technologies that it believes will be paramount eight years from now. A group of nine people selected twenty-three different trends that they predict will change the world. “These technologies, tied into what we call seamless intelligence, present a view of the future,” said IEEE Computer Society President Dejan Milojicic. “Technology is the enabler. What humanity takes out of it really depends on human society.”
The list includes the following:
- Security Cross-Cutting Issues
- Open Intellectual Property Movement
- Sustainability
- Massively Online Open Courses (MOOCs)
- Quantum Computing
- Device and Nanotechnology
- 3D Integrated Circuits
