The Apache Software Foundation announced today apache-extras.org.

It’s a Web site hosted by Google for “code associated with Apache projects that are not part of the Foundation’s” top-level projects or Apache Incubator and Labs initiatives.

“Apache Extras provides a home for Apache related software which is not formally a part of the ASF itself,” ASF vice president of community development Ross Gardler explained. “Having these projects on a single hosting platform will help to further accelerate innovation involving Apache software.”
