Marketing firm App Promo has released a new survey which underscores just how difficult it is for iOS developers to turn a profit. It found that 59 percent of the mobile development pros surveyed don’t break even on their apps in the App Store. In addition, 80 of those surveyed said their iOS earnings couldn’t “support a standalone business.”
Those developers who were making the most on apps spent an average of $30,000 and 14 percent of their time on marketing and promotion activities.
