A new Vanson Bourne survey sponsored by Software AG finds that 25 percent of enterprises say the Internet of Things (IoT) is the most important initiative in their organization. However, 90 percent of those surveyed said they have significant barriers to IoT deployment. Chief among those barriers is a lack of internal expertise and skills, cited by 31 percent of survey participants.
On the positive side, 98 percent of enterprises were seeing some return on investment (ROI) from their IoT deployment. However, 89 percent said they would need to improve their approach to IoT if they wanted to increase their ROI.
