IBM has announced plans to make Nvidia’s Tesla P100 GPUs available on its Bluemix cloud development platform. The Tesla P100 is Nvidia’s fastest GPU and includes features that make it especially good for deep learning workloads. However, in order to use the super-fast GPU on Bluemix, you will have to be running bare metal instances rather than the standard virtual machines.
“As the AI era takes hold, demand continues to surge for our GPU-accelerated computing platform in the cloud,” said Nvidia’s Ian Buck. “These new IBM Cloud offerings will provide users with near-instant access to the most powerful GPU technologies to date — enabling them to create applications to address complex problems that were once unsolvable.”
Google has also announced that it will support the Nvidia Tesla P100 GPUs on its cloud computing service.
