A new report from Swrve has revealed that only 1.9 percent of mobile gamers made a purchase in February, a 0.4 percent increase from a year ago. Of those, 64 percent made just one purchase, while only 7 percent made five or more purchases during the month.

The most common type of purchase, accounting for 39 percent of purchases, is less than $5. Purchases of more than $50 account for only 2.5 percent of sales, but they generate 17.5 percent of revenue.

“The vast majority of players deliver no revenue, again confirming that greater care should be taken in user acquisition to ensure, as much as possible, that onboarded users fit the subset of ‘spenders,'” Swrve wrote in its report. “The good news, perhaps, is that free-to-play game publishers are getting smarter around broadening the net of paying players.”
