Because user feedback has a direct impact on future downloads, many mobile development firms are paying more attention to user ratings and reviews these days. FierceDeveloper spotlighted a couple of startups that are helping to make the process easier.

Started by a mobile developer who had trouble getting reviews, Smooth Reviews is a rating exchange service where developers leave reviews for other mobile apps. The more apps you review, the more often other developers will be asked to review your app.

Also helpful is AppBot, a tool that makes it easier for developers to track reviews and ratings. It can make it possible to respond to feedback quickly, helping head off problems before they result in a lot of negative reviews.

In related news, Apple is now deleting paid reviews and ratings, making it more difficult for developers to game the system by paying for good feedback.
