Slack Adds Actions for Developers

At its Spec developer conference, collaboration vendor Slack announced a new platform feature called Actions. The capability will allow developers to turn messages into tasks that are automatically integrated into other development tools, including Jira Cloud, Bitbucket, Asana, Zendesk and Bitbucket. In the future, the company plans to add support for Pocket, Guru, Todo and Teamline.

“Actions make it quick and simple to kick off the next step in your work, so nothing gets lost as you go about your day and projects aren’t needlessly delayed,” Slack said.

At the event, Slack also announced Block Kit, a user interface development toolkit.
