Microsoft has added new features to Skype that improve its capabilities as a platform for interviewing developer job candidates. The video communication platform now has an in-browser code editor called Skype Interviews that can be used to test job seekers’ programming abilities. In includes syntax highlighting and live code execution capabilities and does not require the installation of any separate apps or extensions. Currently, it supports the C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python and Ruby programming languages.

Skype Interviews is still in preview mode, but anyone can use it by hitting the interview button and sharing the link with an interviewee.
