Israeli security researcher Amihai Neiderman has given a scathing review to Tizen, Samsung’s operating system that was originally developed for smartphones and is now used for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. Speaking at Kaspersky Lab’s Security Analyst Summit, Neiderman said, “It may be the worst code I’ve ever seen. Everything you can do wrong there, they do it.”
He pointed to buffer overflow problems, SSL inconsistencies and several vulnerabilities that could be exploited remotely, including flaws in the TizenStore app store.
Samsung says it is committed to fixing the flaws. It uses Tizen in smart TVs, some smartphones and many IoT devices.
