At CES 2015, Samsung CEO Boo-Keun Yoon laid out the company’s extensive plans for the Internet of Things (IoT). The company plans to spend $100 million on a program to increase the number of IoT developers, and it intends to have all of its hardware IoT-enabled by 2020. He added that the company sold 665 million IoT-related products in 2014.
“I know in my heart that neither one single company nor one industry alone can deliver the benefits of the Internet of things,” Yoon said. “To create this IoT universe, we have to see the potential of the Internet of Things across all kinds of industries. Only if we work together can we improve people’s lives.”
