According to the latest data from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, Android devices accounted for 64.9 percent of U.S. smartphone sales during the three months ending in May 2015, a 2.8 percent increase. The researchers attribute the rise to the popularity of the Samsung Galaxy S6, which launched during that time period.

However, the Galaxy S6 was not as popular in Europe, where Android’s market share dropped 2.9 percent during the period.

Samsung leads the Android market in the U.S., accounting for 55 percent of Android smartphone sales during the three months ending in May. LG is also doing very well and has doubled its U.S. market share since last year.
