At its development conference, Samsung unveiled SDKs for a whole lot of devices—but not for the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Why not? “We’ve had sort of an invite-only world,” said Samsung’s Curtis Sasaki. “We need to make sure we’re ready to go big.”
Currently, about 70 apps are available for the Galaxy Gear. The company says it does not have a timeline for opening the platform to more third-party mobile development firms.
