Samsung has announced that it will hold its Smart App Challenge mobile development contest again this year. It will award $200,000 to one first-place winner, $100,000 each to three second-place winners, and $50,000 each to six third-place winners.
In order to be eligible for the contest, apps must be created for the Galaxy S4 smartphone using the Samsung Chord SDK, which allows apps to utilize peer-to-peer wireless connections between Samsung devices. They also must use Samsung’s APIs for in-app purchases and ads, and they must be sold through the Samsung Apps marketplace. Developers can submit apps for the contest between June 20 and August 31.
