rSmart assists colleges and universities with the installation, maintenance, and technical support of open source software. Now rSmart is offering support for the Kuali Financial System.
The Arizona-based company announced its new service on Nov. 17.
“After successfully implementing Kuali Financial System this year with Colorado State University, the Naval Postgraduate School, and San Joaquin Delta College,” the press release said, “rSmart recognized the growing industry need to provide institutions using Kuali Financial System with ongoing professional software support and maintenance services.”
The Kuali Financial System was released under the Open Source Initiative Educational Community License earlier this year by the Kuali Foundation. It’s a web-based conversion of the Indiana University’s Financial Information System. The “Kuali project” began in 2005 with a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
rSmart hopes to provide the vital missing link for institutions seeking to implement open source software: support.
“rSmart’s Kuali Financial System support offering provides the critical support services an institution using Kuali Financial System will need,” according to the press release, “such as technical support, troubleshooting, issue resolution, regular updates, patches, access to documentation and tools.”
