Nearly every day seems to bring more bad news for RIM, but the company says that developers haven’t abandoned its mobile platform yet. Currently, the BlackBerry App World has 46,000 applications, and that number is growing.

Anecdotally, several developers say that they are continuing to target the platform, despite its shrinking user base. Pete Nofelt, lead BlackBerry developer at Foursquare, notes “BlackBerry is very much a big part of our usage; we just hired another BlackBerry developer.”
