Marketing firm Fiksu has released a new report which claims that mobile development costs increased in April. Specifically, the paper asserted the following:

  • The cost of acquiring a loyal user climbed 5 percent, or 7 cents, to reach $1.52.
  • iOS app costs per install (CPI) climbed 28 percent to $1.24; Android CPI jumped 21 percent to $1.31.
  • Downloads of the top 200 free iPhone apps dropped 25 percent.

The report suggested that the summer may be a good time for mobile development firms to launch new apps and that ads that run during this period may do a better job of attracting users.
