App Annie has released a new report on the mobile development industry’s performance in 2016, and it’s full of good news. For the year, downloads increased 15 percent, time spent in apps increased 25 percent, and developer revenue increased 40 percent. Total downloads topped 90 billion, 13 billion more than in 2015.
The report also noted a couple of interesting trends. Growth in China was one of the most important factors in the download increases, and non-games are becoming more important to the market as a whole.
