Those who declared Google Glass “dead” when Google halted sales of the device may have spoken too soon. An unnamed source told Business Insider that the company is continuing its efforts to create wearable devices as part of an effort codenamed Project Aura. In addition, the source says that Google has hired several hardware engineers from Amazon’s Lab126 group.
The source adds that Project Aura will remain part of Google rather than one of the other companies under the new Alphabet umbrella. It appears as though Project Aura also has a talent recruiter looking to hire more developers and engineers.
