Cloud development platform vendor DigitalOcean has published a new survey which found that 58 percent of organization were using continuous integration (CI), but only 45 percent were using continuous deployment (CD). Large enterprises are more likely to use both CI and CD. “While only 45 percent of developers in organizations with five employees or less are using continuous integration, and only 35 percent are using continuous delivery (CD), developers report the likelihood of using these technologies increases with the size of the organization,” said a blog post about the report. “This is somewhat intuitive as many of the benefits of these methods provide ways for groups of developers to work together. In large organizations with over 1,000 employees, 68 percent of developers report using continuous integration and 52 percent are using continuous delivery.”
The survey also found that 74 percent of developers are not currently using artificial intelligence (AI) or machine learning (ML). However, 81 percent said they wanted to learn AI.
