Last fall, Apple revamped the App Store with an eye to making it easier for users to find new apps. A new report from Sensor Tower says that effort was largely successful. The number of downloads driven by people browsing through the App Store has increased from 10 percent to 15 percent. And for games, browsing accounts for 24 percent of downloads.

Still, keyword search is responsible for 65 percent of downloads, making it the most popular way to find new apps, by far.

The App Store currently has more than 2 million apps.
