Red Hat and Microsoft have made two new announcements related to their partnership. First, Red Hat is adding Microsoft’s open source .NET core to several of its products, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform. Microsoft’s .NET Core provides a development platform for creating Web applications and microservices.
In related news, the two companies are also partnering on containers and cloud computing technology. Native support for Windows Server containers is coming to the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform, OpenShift Dedicated on Microsoft Azure and SQL Server on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and OpenShift.
