On July 2nd to the 3rd in Oxford, the CHAR(10) PostgreSQL conference will be held to educate people on what the open source database is capable of doing.
The conference is geared towards scaling PostgreSQL. CHAR(10) stands for Clustering, High Availability and Replication.
“We’re very pleased that the UK is hosting the first conference on PostgreSQL-related clustering, high availability and replication,” Simon Riggs, a PostgreSQL HA developer and CTO at 2ndQuadrant.com told The H. “To have a whole conference dedicated to these topics demonstrates the maturity and range of features on offer. PostgreSQL 9.0 nails ease-of-use, with streaming replication available in core.”
Riggs told The H that there’s a perception problem that PostgreSQL doesn’t support replication when it has for several years.
Registration for CHAR(10) closes on June 26th.
