Java 11 has reached general availability status. The update is notable in part for what is missing, namely JavaFX (which is now a separate module), several translations (French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish), the deployment stack, auto-update features, JRE and Java Mission Control. The release also adds some new features including support for Unicode 10, a new collection method and a new command line flag.

Java 11 is a long-term support (LTS) release, so Oracle plans to maintain it until at least 2026.
