Allegations that there was an FBI conspiracy to have a backdoor into OpenBSD have been dampened.

A full review of IPsec–the code in question– uncovered bugs, but according to OpenBSD’s Theo de Raadt, there’s no evidence of any FBI conspiracy.

Ars Technica’s Ryan Paul reported that de Raadt’s theory is that maybe the FBI did write some OpenBSD code and deployed it as their own product. But so far, he’s seen no evidence that if the code even exists it ever made it into the OpenBSD tree.
