Janco Associates’ Web browser statistics show that in Feb. 2010, Microsoft’s Internet Explorer continues to lose market share to open source browser competition.

According to Janco’s report, from February 2009 to February 2010, IE dropped 6.21 percent, from 70.99 percent to 64.78 percent, reports Softpedia’s Marius Oiaga.

“The major findings are that in the last 12 months Microsoft’s browser market share has continued to erode – Microsoft lost over 6 percent in the last 12 months; Firefox’s market share is unchanged for the last 12 months; Google Desktop and Chrome now have just under 6 percent; and Netscape is no more,” Janco’s Browser and Operating System white paper reads.
