Some of Nasdaq’s computers were hacked via a SQL injection attack and the Aite Group is blaming open source, and Network World’s Alan Shimel is angry.

“When I see supposedly intelligent people blaming open source for simple SQL injections I see red,” Shimel said. “Can you spell F-ear U-ncertainty and D-oubt?”

Shimel said this attack on open source in the face of a garden-variety SQL injection attack is fear mongering.

Neither open source or cloud computer, he said are to blame for this attack, and saying so “does us all a disservice.”
