The group behind the nginx Web server has announced a new configuration language called nginScript. In the past, users writing configuration scripts for nginx had to use the Lua programming language. This new configuration language is based on JavaScript, which may make it easier for more people to write scripts for the Web server.
Some have noted that the change may be helpful for organizations utilizing a DevOps strategy.
For now, nginx plans to continue supporting Lua as well as nginScript.
