Former Agile software development coach John Yorke has created a new board game called Motor City that teaches some of the principles of Kanban. Slightly similar to the popular board game Ticket to Ride, Motor City challenges players to fulfill customer orders in the auto industry of the 1930s and 1940s. The winner is the player who fulfills the most orders.
“You’re learning the principles of Kanban and at the same time you’re understanding the principle of constraints and how you adapt your flow to code with those constraints, and it’s all wrapped up in a fun game,” Yorke explained.
Priced at $120, the game is being marketed to enterprises who might want to use it for training purposes.
