Mozilla had planned to ship Firefox 4 this year, but delays have forced the release date for the open source Web browser to be pushed back until some time in the first quarter of 2011.
On Wednesday, Mozilla released the last Firefox 4 beta for 2010. It’s the eighth Firefox 4 beta. Before the company gives the new Web browser the greenlight, Mozilla plans to ship at least two more betas next year, and then a series of release candidates, Computer World’s Gregg Keizer reported.
According to Mozilla, Beta 8 has more 1,400 bugs squashed and improvements since Beta 7.
