Mozilla has announced that it will hold a series of workshops for mobile development firms or individuals interested in creating apps for the new Firefox OS. The organization is hoping to attract developers with PhoneGap, Chrome, webOS or BlackBerry WebWorks experience who might be interested in porting their applications to the Firefox platform. To help entice developers to come, Mozilla is offering free development hardware.
The sessions will take place in Madrid, Spain, on April 20; in Bogotá, Colombia, on May 18; and in Warsaw, Poland, on June 1. The OS will launch in Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela this year, and it will come to the U.S. in 2014.
