Motorola Backflips to be the First Android AT&T Phone

On March 7, AT&T customers, for the first time, will be able to buy a phone running Google’s open source Android operating system. It’s a Motorola Backflip.

Wired’s Priya Ganapati has the story.

Ganapati reported that the Backflip will retail for $100 and requires a two-year contract. Wired reported that there’s a $100 mail-in rebate.

In January, AT&T said they are planning to have five Android phones for sale by the end of the year, Ganapati said.
