The Economist has published an in-depth look at the programming language Python that is worth a read. It traces the language’s origins and Monty Python-inspired moniker to its current ubiquity. According to the article, “In the past 12 months Google users in America have searched for Python more often than for Kim Kardashian.” It also claims that Python-related searches have tripled in the last eight years.

In addition, Python training opportunities are on the rise. And a Stack Overflow survey found that 40 percent of professional developers use Python, and another 25 percent want to use it.
