Michael ‘Monty’ Widenius won’t let it go.
On Friday, the MySQL co-founder submitted an appeal against the European Commission’s decision to allow Oracle to takeover Sun Microsystems.
Widenius sold his share of the popular open source database MySQL to Sun in 2008 for $1 billion.
The Register’s Kelly Fiveash reported that Widenius was contacted for a response to the appeal request, but Widenius said he would make a full statement once Oracle responded to the appeal.
The Financial Times confirmed with the European Commission that an appeal has been filed, and told the paper that the antitrust watchdog would “defend” the “decision in court.”
