Jon Potter, former executive director of the Digital Media Association, is leading the charge to help app developers create their own professional organization. “Our thought now is there’s an interesting space in the application developer community that isn’t really organized,” said Potter.
Potter plans to start promoting the new group, dubbed the Application Developers Alliance, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Eventually, he hopes the group will be able to offer mobile devs a collaboration network, product testing facilities, reduced prices on training opportunities and discounts on cloud computing services.
