Microsoft’s P Language Could Spur IoT Development

Microsoft has open sourced a new programming language called P that focuses on the Internet of Things (IoT). The language is intended for asynchronous event-driven programming and is suitable for use in embedded applications.

“The goal of P is to provide language primitives to succinctly and precisely capture protocols that are inherent to communication among components,” said Ethan Jackson and Shaz Qadeer of Microsoft.

Microsoft has another open source language for IoT called P#. It is related to C#.
