Microsoft Uses Bacon to Recruit Kinect Developers

No one can resist the smell of cooking bacon — at least that’s what Microsoft is hoping. In an attempt to recruit developers to work on its Kinect for Windows Engineering team, Redmond is employing a rather unusual strategy. It has deployed a cart to Seattle streets offering free bacon to anyone who happens by. The cart will be strategically located in places where techies are likely to walk by –starting with the sidewalks near Amazon’s Seattle headquarters.

To go with the bacon, the cart is also dispensing condiments like spray cheese, Sriracha, peanut butter, maple syrup and chocolate sauce. Serious job candidates are also getting a bacon-scented air freshener that reads “Wake up and smell the future.” View article
