Microsoft has announced that it will discontinue Azure DataMarket, an app store that allowed developers to access cloud-based data services. Access to the store will end March 31, 2017. “We’re retiring DataMarket because we’re not seeing the sustained customer interest in DataMarket to enable us to continue with this marketplace,” Microsoft said.
In related news, Microsoft made several other announcements regarding Azure. It debuted a new feature called Azure Advisor, which helps configure cloud computing services, and it added VMware VM backups to its Azure Backup Server solution. It also announced general availability for Azure Data Lake Store. Azure Data Lake Analytics and Azure Application Insights.
