As part of its ongoing efforts to increase the number of apps in its Windows Store, Microsoft has announced that it will hold “app labs” for interested developers. The labs will last four hours each and will offer developers technical guidance and other assistance in creating Windows 8 applications. The events will take place in 30 different cities located all over the world, including San Francisco, New York, Toronto, London, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai and Bangalore.
Microsoft says it has already conducted one such app lab with partner RocketSpace, and 120 people attended. Microsoft’s Antoine Leblond also claims “nearly half a million developers and entrepreneurs from more than 80 countries” have already started building Windows 8 style apps.
