As part of its effort to open source the .NET development framework, Microsoft has announced the release of Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) under an open source license. WCF supports one-way and two-way communication over HTTP and TCP.

WCF now has a repository on GitHub, and interested developers can contribute to the project.
