Microsoft has launched a new Professional Degree program through edX.org, a non-profit online learning site set up by Harvard and MIT. For now, the program has just one course of study, but it’s related to one of the most in-demand areas of technology: data science.
The company describes the program as an “employer-endorsed, university-caliber curriculum for professionals at any stage of their career.” In order to complete the program, attendees will need to finish nine classes and a final project. Interested developers can audit any of the courses for free, but receiving certificates costs money–$516 in all for the full course.
