In cooperation with TechStars, Microsoft has unveiled a new program aimed at helping developers create Xbox or Windows apps that use Kinect technology. Under the Kinect Accelerator program, Microsoft will award 10 startups or developers $20,000, plus three months to work out of the Kinect Accelerator office (with access to Microsoft personnel, support and training), an Xbox development kit and the Windows Kinect SDK. Those who join the program must give a 6 percent equity stake in their companies to TechStars.
Interested developers need to apply for the program before January 23.
