Microsoft Backpedals on Plan to Bring Android Apps to Windows

Back in April, Microsoft announced that it was working on a tool called Project Astoria that would allow Android developers to port their apps to Windows. But now it appears that the tool is delayed or possibly canceled.

“The Astoria bridge is not ready yet, but other tools offer great options for developers,” Microsoft said in a statement. “We’re committed to offering developers many options to bring their apps to the Windows Platform.”

Microsoft added that it has released its tools for porting iOS and Web apps to Windows.
